Our Objectives

At Clunes Neighbourhood House, our objectives guide the way we transform our vision into meaningful, measurable action. They reflect our commitment to contributing to a community that actively cares for all people and place, while nurturing connection, wellbeing, and sustainability.

Objective 1: Connect Our Community

We aim to foster a strong, inclusive community by enabling programs and services that bring people together.

  • Strategies:

    • Encourage community involvement and volunteering to build belonging.

    • Maintain and activate social infrastructure to support community-led activities and a culture of sharing.

    • Build skills and confidence through collaboration, diversity, and hands-on community-led initiatives.

    • Share stories that deepen understanding of what it means to live well together.

Objective 2: Enable a Positive Culture

We create an environment where people feel welcome, respected and supported, but most importantly, where leadership and creativity are encouraged.

  • Strategies:

    • Provide accessible pathways to reduce social isolation and strengthen local relationships.

    • Support leadership development and future-focused thinking across all ages and backgrounds.

    • Celebrate community achievements and share our successes locally and beyond

Objective 3: Facilitate a Healthy, Vibrant and Sustainable Future

We support health, wellbeing and sustainability in Clunes by responding to local needs and investing in long-term community capacity.

  • Strategies:

    • Promote opportunities for health and wellbeing, particularly for people at risk of chronic disease.

    • Empower residents to take an active role in shaping their neighbourhood.

    • Apply circular economy thinking to all aspects of our work to ensure long-term viability and growth.

How We Measure Our Impact

We assess our progress through:

  • Impact.  From individual outcomes through to systemic solutions.

  • Volunteer participation across diverse groups in the community.

  • The number and strength of partnerships — both locally and beyond.

  • Our contribution toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:

    • Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being

    • Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

    • Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
