Strengthening Connections

Living a full and healthy life doesn't happen by chance. You need people around you, opportunities to connect, things to do so you can be active, a sense of purpose and support. Clunes is a community that offers all of these factors and more, and recently we've had a chance to dig deep in order to strengthen this.

Clunes Neighbourhood House (CNH), Attitude - Ageing Well in Clunes, and Central Highlands Rural Health (CHRH) have formed a pioneering partnership, backed by the Western Victoria Primary Health Network (PHN), to launch a Living and Ageing Well in Hepburn project.

This exciting initiative aims to empower people entering the next stage of their lives in a healthy and fulfilling manner.

With the support of the Western Victoria PHN, CNH, Attitude, and CHRH are committed to pulling together their resources to create a suite of programs that will enhance the lives of people aged 50 and over or 45 years or older First Nations people in the community.

The Living and Ageing Well in Hepburn project encompasses two key strategies designed to empower older individuals and improve their quality of life.

The first strategy involves the development of a Clunes 'healthy ageing hub' prototype, which will provide a range of connections, activities, and resources. This prototype will be a catalyst for promoting social engagement, civic participation, and overall wellbeing.

The second strategy focuses on establishing information and connection in Daylesford, Trentham, and Creswick, expanding the project's reach and impact across the region.

By working together, CNH, Attitude, and CHRH aim to create a collaborative environment where each organisation's intellectual and physical resources are combined to maximise the impact on people’s lives and enable them to live and age well. The project seeks to inspire healthy habits, foster connections, and provide ongoing support to ensure these positive changes persist well into the later years.

CNH, Attitude, and CHRH are thrilled with the generous support of the Western Victoria Primary Health Network, which has enabled the development of this exciting and transformative project. The project has received a total funding of $350,000.

Through collaborating and embracing the opportunities presented by this project, CNH, Attitude, and CHRH are poised to make a lasting and positive impact in the community.
